International City - Overview:
International City is a vast expanse of residential, business, commercial and tourism lands covering six key areas: The Central District, Dubai Gates, The Dragon Mart, Lake District, Forbidden City and The Residential District, from which it derived its name.
The 800-hectare mixed-use development features uniquely-themed residential districts (China, England, Morocco, Russia, Italy, Spain, France, Persia, Greece and Thailand) with freehold studio, one and two-bedroom apartments that can accommodate more than 60,000 residents.
Project Features:
- The Central District is situated over 21 hectares, and serves as the nerve center of the project. It comprises of 34 plots, where investors can develop their own projects (in line with International City's themes and aesthetics). All 10-storey towers in the Central District will house retail outlets on the ground floor and each tower will have basement parking for 130 vehicles.
- The Residential District consists of several country-specific and themed residential developments including a total of 387 buildings, 22,235 residential apartments and 5,200 retail outlets. The Residential District will host commercial shops, restaurants, medical centers, post office, police station, two civil defense units and transportation services.
- The Lake District is being built around Al Warsan Lake, a 100-hectare natural eco-system and home to over 186 species of birds including some of the most exotic and rare birds found in the Arabian Peninsula and parts of Asia.
- Forbidden City consists of a 240,000 sq. m.- replica of the iconic Forbidden City in China. This development will host a variety of entertainment facilities, in addition to retail and restaurant outlets, public squares and authentic Chinese-themed displays.
