The second island in The Palm island trilogy, The Palm, Jebel Ali is located in Dubai Waterfront. It was created with a vision of becoming an unparalleled getaway for residents and visitors alike, with an array of luxury hotels, water homes built on stilts that spell a poem written by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum the ruler of Dubai, beachside villas, shoreline apartments, dive sites and a variety of entertainment and leisure activities.
The project will create a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment opportunities, all within a unique and inspiring setting. The Palm, Jumeirah will feature some of the leading hotels in the city, in addition to luxury beachfront villas and shoreline apartments. The Palm Jebel Ali will accommodate approximately 2000 Signature Villas, Garden Homes and Town Homes, together with several luxury apartment buildings and 1,060 Waterside Homes. Construction on the Palm Jebel Ali is slightly delayed but is currently ongoing, but both island sites are already reclaimed from the sea. The Palm Jumeirah project was several months delayed from a completion date of 2006, but the residents that have already moved in are already enjoying the lifestyle it offers. Demand has been so strong that outline plans for a third Palm Island, off the shoreline of Deira, Dubai, are in hand to include more residential properties, and also some commercial property.
The Palm Jebel Ali is going to extend on the original Palm Jumeirah by featuring more entertainment facilities to attract tourists and residents. With a scheduled water park, and a full shopping complex, the Palm Jebel Ali is sure to achieve the same amount of success as the Palm Jumeirah.
Location:
The busy commercial port of Jebel Ali, located about 35 kilometers from the city of Dubai is itself artificial, reputedly the largest man-made harbour in the world, completed in 1979.
Nakheel, the developers of both Palm projects will be attempting to extend their engineering techniques to another ambitious freehold project at Jebel Ali port, titled The Waterfront, which will be a city within a city of freehold residential, commercial and retail property.
